JAGS Wonderland
Anybody read it? Other than Marco, duh!

After our recent Don't Rest Your Head game, I got this idea to do DRYH crossed with Wonderland with Star, Moon, and Cross mechanics. So: as a pure setting/advice book, how is JAGS Wonderland? What are the contents? Would it be easily amenable to a hybrid setting (some setting books are, some aren't)?

Enquiring minds, and all that. Marco is of course welcome to weigh in with his 2 cents.

Well ...
1. The PDF's are free. You can get them here: http://www.jagsrpg.org . They're big, well illustrated, and while the covers (which you only get if you buy them) are things of beauty you can live without 'em just to read.

2. I don't know DRYH ... but ... the Evil Hat guys seem to really like Wonderland and I've seen Mad City compared to part of Wonderland (Chessboard 1). So I think that it's a natural fit.

3. I'm watching people use Unknown Armies and PTA to do Wonderland so clearly hybridized settings work well.

As to the real question: Wonderland is 90% setting and GM advice. Yes, there are rules. Yes, there are powers. However, if you crack the PDFs you'll find that they are pretty much pure setting goodness.

I suggest reading the first two chapters of the first book and the first few pages of the second and seeing if that floats your boat you can probably safely invest more time in the whole thing.

Of course I read it, Lee.

I don't know anything about JAGS Wonderland.
